Starbucks: Augmented Reality Xmas Cups

Starbucks are about to release a new app to activate unique Augmented Reality experiences triggered by their famous red xmas cups. The idea is to find, activate and share all 5 special xmas characters that appear randomly on the red cups.
The new app also happens to showcase special offers and provides an eGifting facility. While this might not be ground breaking AR, it will bring a huge mainstream following, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how many people download the app and trigger the AR experiences… It has the potential to clear the path for all sorts of future AR campaigns if this can get some solid traction!

Interactive Vogue Print Ads

It’s a simple combination that delivers a great experience for readers. Sure, it’s not completely seamless, but it’s adding another dimension for an audience that actually wants to interact with the brand or product. It’s also a great way to measure the performance of the ad. What do you think?
